This standard describes a test method to quantify the rigidity of a load unit in a specified direction when subject to an inertia force in that direction. This standard also addresses some relevant minimum requirements for test equipment, acceptance criteria and reporting.
Test method:
To quantify the rigidity of a load unit type, a test load unit of that type is placed on a test loading platform. The loading platform is accelerated in forward direction with a specific acceleration of k*g for at least 0.3s and decelerated afterwards. The changeover from rest to the specific acceleration should not take more than 0.05s.
As an alternative method, the loading platform is accelerated for a sufficient period of time and decelerated with a specific deceleration of k*g for at least 0.3s. The changeover from acceleration to deceleration should not take more than 0.05s.
