Placental alkaline phosphatase （PLAP） is a 58 KDa enzyme. PLAP becomes expressed in the maturing placenta with steadily raising levels during pregnancy. In some reproductive system tumors, gastrointestinal tumors, and lung cancer, it can also be used as a carcinoma antigen. The antibody is mainly used for the diagnosis of human seminoma and dysgerminomaofovary.
