Thermo Scientific Pierce Lyse-and-Go PCR Reagent quickly and easily releases DNA from cells in a form ready for PCR amplification.

The Lyse and Go PCR Reagent is a simple, detergent-based reagent that effectively lyses cells to to extract DNA in a buffer formulation that is compatible for direct use in the polymerase chain reactions (PCR). Samples are ready for PCR by simply adding the Lyse and Go PCR Reagent and briefly heating in a thermocycler, which enhances DNA release and inactivates endogenous nucleases. Depending on the starting material, up to 10% of the cell lysate can be used for direct PCR amplification. The reagent is especially effective for PCR-based colony-screening of plasmid-transformed E. coli cells. Lyse and Go Reagent also has been used to prepare PCR-ready template from yeast colonies (S. cerevisiae), some animal and plant tissues, whole blood, and cultured mammalian cells.
